Death has again claimed one of our
oldest citizens, Andrew Stilson, who,
after a brief illness, caused by a paralytic
stroke, died at his home at Beaver
Falls, January 6th, aged 79 years,
11 months and 20 days. Mr. Stilson
was born in Denmark, January 25,
1819. In the spring Of 1840 he went t o Waterbury, Conn., and became engaged in the manufacture of woolen Cloth. On July 19, 1846, he was united in marriage to Miss Charlotte A. Judd, Naugatnck, Conn., who died November
6, 1870. In 1848 Mr. Stilson returned
to Denmark, where he engaged
in farming for a number of years. Five
children were born to Mr. and Mrs.
Stilson, one of whom died February 15,
1889. Those surviving are George W.
Stilson, of Buffalo; Mrs. Frank Leyendecker,
of East Martinsburg; Mrs. C. F. Puffer, of Lowville, and A. S. Stilson,of New York city. The funeral
was held at the Evangelical church,
Beaver Falls, Rev. Mr. Braunschweig
officiating; interment at tbe Reed cemetery.
