Virginia L. Larson, aged 82, of Alexandria died on Sunday August 24, 2003 at the Douglas County Hospital and into her Heavenly Father's arms.

Virginia was born on November 11, 1920 in Lowry, MN to Oscar and Esther (Loren) Dahlgren. She graduated from Glenwood High School. She was married on October 10, 1943 to Ernest Alton Larson of Rural Swan Lake Township of Stevens County of which three children were born, Conrad, Sherlyn, and Eileen. After the death of her husband Ernest in 1955, Virginia continued to live on the farm until 1972. She then moved to Hoffman where she worked at the Hoffman Nursing Home until she retired and moved to Alexandria. She was active in school functions, 4-H, and Homemakers of Stevens County. She also held many offices of the churches she belonged to over the years. Her life was spent helping others and spreading God's Love to all around her. This was reflected in her music ability by her singing, playing the piano and as an accomplished violinist from an early age, as well as in her daily life and conversation. She enjoyed and was very proud of her nine grandsons, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter. She will be sadly missed by many friends from Berea and Calvary Lutheran Churches of Alexandria, Scandia Lutheran Church of rural Morris, Trinity Lutheran Church of Cyrus, Messiah Lutheran Church of Hoffman, and Bethel Manor. She counted them all as family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest at the age of 35 in 1955, the tragic deaths of her beloved daughter Sherlyn age 17 in 1969, her beloved daughter-in-law Phyllis Larson in 1976 (former Jefferson High School Phy Ed Teacher and girl's coach)two infant sisters Delaine and Sylvia and her brother Lester Dalgren in 1956.

She is survived by her son Conrad Larson (Mary) of Dillworth, MN, daughter Eileen Stark (Larry)of Kensington, MN, nine grandsons Travis(Michelle) Larson and great grandson Aidan, Craig Larson, Timothy (Randee) Larson and great grandson Eagan, Mark Larson, Matthew Larson, William (Jill) Stark, Nathanial (Annie) Stark and great granddaughter Morgan, Lane Stark, and Gregory Stark, Nephew and Godson Loren (Nancy) Dalgren-Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO.
