According to the 1940 U.S. census, Gladys (41) was living with her husband William J. (40) in Superior, Pinal Co., Arizona with their children Marjorie (16), Virginia (14), Betty (5), and Danny (3), and her sons Eugene Wright (21) and Marvin Wright (15). William worked as an underground copper miner and Eugene was a laborer at the copper smelter in Superior.

Her son Daniel's ashes were added to her grave site. There is no marker for him.
