D.A. Wever, age 88, of Penryn. CA died there Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002. Wever was born July 31, 1914 in Duncan, OK but moved to Dodson as a child. He spent all his school days in Dodson and Arlie. His family moved to California in the early 1940's. His work history included working at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, CA for 20 years as a hydraulic mechanic where he retired in 1971. He was a real estate agent for 10 years. A dedicated Mason, he was twice Past Master of the Masonic Lodge of Penryn #258 and also served twice as Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He received the esteemed Hiram Award in 1983. His many interest included serving as director of the 4-H Club where his children were members. One of his priorities was attending the Dodson High School reunion in the spring and reminiscing about the days playing football with the Dodsonville Mustangs. Even though he lived far away for many years, his roots were always in Dodson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Stogsdale Wever and sons, Terry Wever and Donnie Wever. Survivors include his wife, Jnell Hightower Wever; son, Larry and his wife, Gayle; daughter, Loretta Peart; two sisters, Bessie Stubbs and Myrtle Brown; Grandchildren, Emily Wever, Greg McMulIen, Gary McMulIen and Jerry Peart; stepdaughter, Denise Ripley and step-grandson, Scott Ripley.
