George C. Ginunas, age 74, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 13, 2002 at Grant Medical Center. Born May 24, 1927 to the late George W. Ginunas & Elizabeth (nee Buchinsky) Ginunas Davis. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1967, and was a proud employee of the Columbus Zoo for 33 years, where he was a Lt. Ranger. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Mildred ''Mickey'' Ginunas, children George & Cheryl Ginunas, Robert Ginunas, Ragina & Joe Lacalamita, Anna & Jeff Krigbaum, Ricky & Sandy Ginunas, Alicia & Pat Toney, grandchildren Jennifer & David Foiles, Shanna & Johnny Kefauver, Nicole Ginunas, George Ginunas, Shaun Ginunas, Jeffrey Krigbaum, Ronny Greene, Lisa Lacalamita, Tyler Ginunas, Marcus Krigbaum, Vanessa Aubaugh, Melinda Ginunas, Chaz Aubaugh, Zachary Ginunas, Joseph Lacalamita, Alex Krigbaum, Leia Ginunas, Vaughn Ginunas, Faith Krigbaum, great-grandchildren Mary Anne Foiles, William Foiles, Jeffrey Kefauver, Alissa Kefauver, Emily Meier, brothers William & Jimmy Davis, sister Helen Hynoski, and many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by step-father William Robert Davis, and sisters Betty Terenick & Virginia Wisnewski. Friends may visit 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W. Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, where funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Dr. Gregory Cooper officiating. Interment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Graveside military rites by the U.S. Air Force. Friends who wish may contribute to the Columbus Zoo in George's memory.
