Cora and John Hendrickson had the following known children:

Roscoe Lemuel Hendrickson (1894-1975)
Minnie Ethel Hendrickson (1886-1978)
Rosea L. Hendrickson (1898- )
Clarence J. Hendrickson (1908- )
Cecil Lawrence Hendrickson (1911-1984)

Cora Benton Hendrickson was born on October 15, 1876 on her father, George Washington Benton's Homestead in Carroll County, Arkansas. Her birth was recorded in the family Bible.(See the handwritten copy of the Bible records on the right) She pioneered with her family as a child in Yocum Township on the edge of Oak Grove, Arkansas in the late 1800s. Her family is listed among Carroll County's early pioneers by the Carroll County Genealogical and Historical Society (Click on link at the right below "two photos not showing to see the photocopy of the original homestead claim).

Cora was born one of a set of twins; however, her twin brother died when he was ten days old. Their mother, George's second wife, was Elizabeth "Eliza" Emma Hamby Benton. She and George Washington Benton married on Valentine's Day of 1873. (See picture on right) When Cora was sixteen months old, on Valentine's day, 1878, her mother passed away. In order to keep his family together, George Benton remarried quickly. On August 18, 1878, he wed Nancy Rhodes, who became Cora's new step-mother. Nancy was delighted to be a mother, and in the 1880 Federal Census claimed all the children in the household, including Cora, as her own; although, she was actually only the biological mother of Cora's half-sister, Sara Jane.

When Cora was fourteen years old, she married John William Hendrickson. At first, the new family remained in Carroll County, Arkansas, but at some point, after 1900, they left for Oklahoma, living for awhile in Tulsa, then in Milton in Leflore County. Eventually, they settled in Glover in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. Her brother, Albert Austin Benton lived nearby in Eagletown, Oklahoma, but communication during this era was so poor that they were not aware that they lived near one another. When Albert's family, discovered that Cora and her family lived nearby, they used to visit them.

Cora and John finished raising their children in the Glover Community. Their two sons, Roscoe Lemuel Hendrickson and Cecil Lawrence Hendrickson are also buried in the Glover Cemetery.
