During the War of 1812, Jacob served as a private in Capt. Armstrong Keir's Company of Infantry, of Lt. Col. William Dudley's Regiment of the Kentucky Militia, for a term of six months from 9 Mar. 1813 through 9 Sept. 1813.
According to family tradition "he served under General Harrison in the War of 1812, participating in the battle at Thames River in Canada, where he was captured by the British, but subsequently escaped after running the gauntlet under the fire of the British soldiers and the Indians, commanded by the famous Tecumseh."
Jacob & Sallie Dadisman resided in Nelson Co. Ky. 1820, 1830, 1840, 1850 & 1860 and Sallie Dadisman resided with their son George Dadisman in Morgan Co. Ill. 1870.
