Mrs. Hester Butts, 82, died at 6 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fronia Logan, with who she had been living. She was born in Montgomery county May 11, 1849, the only child of James and Susan McKinney. She was married to Jonathan Butts, Feb. 1, 1865. Eleven children were born, Martin, Elva and Margaret preceding their mother in death.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Olive Hershberger, of Tangier, Mrs. Fronia Logan, of Veedersburg, Mrs. Gertrude Butts, of Veedersburg, and Mrs. Myrtle Bittner, of Danville, Ill.; four sons, Willard, of Danville, Monteville, of New Richmond, Ind., Isaac, of Indianapolis, and James, of Veedersburg; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her husband died April 23, 1916.
