Ila Eulalah Ricks is the daughter of Harvey Putman Ricks (born in Mississippi) and Sarah M Young (aka Maggie born in Mississippi).

Ila Eulalah's full siblings are Lillian and Rebecca Ricks. Her older step siblings are Annie and Carl Ricks (the children of Leanna Rogers Ricks whom died shortly after Carl's birth).

Ila Eulalah was married 4-times. Jessee A Geiger of Arkansas whom died shortly after their marriage. Later... she married Charles H Rose in Ozark Arkansas, then Frederick H Nolan in Los Angles County California and last John William Bryant in Los Angles California.

Ila Eulalah had 10 children. Her parent, infant son Freddie Nolan and grand daughter Dorothy Wise preceded her in death. Her 9-living children attended her funeral. They are described in her official orbit below.

Ila E Bryant, 76, died Wednesday (Feb 24 1966) at her home in Wolf Creek OR where she had resided for 10 months. She was born Feb 1, 1890 at Gamble Mines, AL.

Survivors include three sons: Charles H. Rose Jr. Long Beach, CA; John W. Bryant Jr. Doyle, CA; Hubert A. Bryant Sr. Santa Ana, CA; six daughters: Faye (Rose) Muehiberger Wolf Creek, OR; Wanda M (Rose) Lowen Santa Ana, CA; Laura M (Nolan)Lee Estacada, OR; Edna E (Nolan) Knowlton Sandy, OR; Barbara A (Nolan)Blacklock Modesto, CA and Ila E (Bryant) Hull Wolf Creek, OR; 23 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Annie M (Ricks) Young Ozark, AR and Rebecca L (Ricks) Sedan San Clementi, CA.

Services will be at 10 A.M. Monday (Feb 28) in the Wolf Creek Church followed by internment in the Wolf Creek cemetery under the direction of the Hull and Hull Funeral Home. -End.

Ila Eulalah's legacy is... teaching her descendants to endure and survive hardships utilizing religious strength, common sense, creativity and hard work.

In her early years Ila Eulalah traveled interstate by mule trains. She raised backyard chickens for her dinner table. She did laundry services in her home to support herself and children . She played the guitar and told lots family history stories.

Ila Eulalah lived in Monroe County Mississippi, Ozark County Arkansas plus Los Angles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego and Imperial Counties of California.

She is dearly loved and missed by all lucky enough to have personally known her. A hard working and extremely religious woman.
