His wife, the former Minnie Chronister, died five years ago. He was the son of the late George W. and Daisy Kingsborough Bear. He was a member of the North Middleton Church of God and was a welder for Reisinger Brothers.
He is survived by two sons, Clark E., at home, and Sylvester S., in the Marines; two brothers, Oren W. Bear, RD2, and Charles L. Bear, Newville, and one sister, Mrs. Robert E. Wingert, Penbrook.
The funeral services are incomplete.
