Animal Actor. A trained chimpanzee, known professionally as Peggy, she eventually became indistinguishable from the roll of Bonzo in the 1951 film "Bedtime for Bonzo," and it's sequel, "Bonzo Goes To College." The chimp won a "Patsy" - the animal equivalent of the Oscar – for her portrayal. In later years, working under the Bonzo name, the chimp was an animal performer in a traveling circus. In 1969, illness felled her, and she died at a time when the circus was passing through Pennsylvania. A local veterinarian offered to have the chimp buried in the near by pet cemetery.
