He was an avid reader who especially liked mysteries and autobiographical literature. He was a history buff, and a master at all video games. He loved animals and had many pets throughout the years. Nathan was a collector of ancient swords, spears and daggers, and had recently begun to collect African art. He enjoyed radio-controlled cars, trucks and planes. Nathan loved to work on muscle cars and knew everything about them. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who owned a bike. He was a member of Pathfinders. Nathan was soft-spoken, compassionate, and wise. His family was the most important thing in his life. He put a great amount of effort into his familial relationships. He was truly a man of his word, and would give you his last. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved God and the word of God.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hattie Mae Johnson Thomas, his aunt, Theresa Brown, and his uncle, Willie Bruce Thomas, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted parents, his beloved brother, Ivorie Leon (Trista) Weatherspoon, Jr., a niece, Taniah and nephew, Ivorie Leon Weatherspoon III, all of Vancouver, WA; his grandfathers, Willie Thomas, Sr. of Port Arthur, TX; Lepoleon Weatherspoon Sr., of Dallas, TX; grandmother Shirley Biscoe of TX; uncles, Lepoleon Weatherspoon Jr., of Dallas, TX , and Mark Thomas of Beaumont, TX; aunts, Wilma (Glen) White and Darlene (Wendell)Pierre of Port Arthur, TX; Patricia (Windel) Clark of Fort Worth, TX; Marie (Gary) Jackson and Earlene (James) Jennings of Killeen, TX; and Anita Weatherspoon of TX; and a host of cousins and other relatives.
Graveside Services will be held at Houston National (VA) Cemetery in Houston, Texas, with Pastor Billy E. Wright or Pastor Franklin O. Nicholas officiating. Interment will be under the direction of American Heritage Funeral Home.
