Clark L. Spidell, 78, of 813 Tremont Ave., SW, Massillon, Ohio, died Sunday at his residence after an illness of two weeks. He was born at Wilmot but lived in Massillon the past 23 years. A machinist, he retired 25 years ago and was a member of Wesley Methodist church. He was a charter member of the Knights of Pythias lodge at Wilmot, Ohio.
Mr. Spidell is survived by his widow, Mary E.; a daughter, Mrs. Dwight L. Walter, of Cleveland Heights; three sons, Lewis C., at hom, William f., of Massillon and Staff Sgt. Paul E., of Fort Jackson, South Carolina; a sister, Mrs Maude Thompson, of Massillon; two half sisters, Mrs. Bessie Thorley and Mrs. Kenneth Thorley, of Canton; a brother, Ora L., of Cardington; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Gordon-Shaldnagle-Hollinger Funeral home with the Rev. E. J. Mansfield of the Wesley Methodist Church officiating and burial will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery at Wilmot. The body is at the funeral home & friends may call this evening from 7-9 p.m. & Tuesday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m.
