Lillian Mae Proffitt was born on October 12, 1921, in Clay County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Henry and Lottie Robinson Bowman. She was united in marriage to Ernest Proffitt, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three children, Glennis Proffitt and wife, Glenda, and Stanley Proffitt and wife, Patty, all of London, and Dale Proffitt and wife, Sharon, of Waddy, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by one daughter, Ernestine Murphy.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.

Lillian Mae Proffitt departed this life at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly on Friday, February 8, 2019, being 97 years, 3 months and 27 days of age.

Funeral service for Lillian Mae Proffitt will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery at London.

The family of Lillian Mae Proffitt will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home from 12 Noon Sunday until the funeral hour of 2 PM.
