SHEPHERD, Ralston A., (Pete), 76, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, July 12, 1997. He was owner and operator of Shepherd's Saddle Shop. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and was a life member of the D.A.V. He was a member of the Military Order of Purple Heart and member of Post #3 of the American Legi on. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Terrell Shepherd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan S. and Bill Dillard, Blue Ridge, Ginger S. and Don Cassaras, Roanoke; son, Michael V. Shepherd, Max Meadows; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Sadie S. Mitchell, Roanoke. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1 p.m. Monday, July 14,1997, with the Rev. Charles Hoffler officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
