Mr. Arnold was born and raised in Easton, Pa., and was a graduate of Easton Catholic High School.
'Whitey' has been a longtime resident of North Cape May and enjoyed his winter months in Cutler Bay, Fla.
He retired from the US Coast Guard as a Lieutenant Commander after serving for 34 years, and working with the Champus Program Medical Administration. He was the first Coast Guardsman to be accepted at the Baltimore Naval Academy for Medical Administration training.
Upon retiring from the US Coast Guard, he then began a second career with the US Postal Service in So. Miami, Fla., where he worked for 25 years, retiring in 2003.
He was an avid bowler, golfer and card player and had an appreciation for Southwestern jewelry. He was also a football enthusiast.
Mr. Arnold was predeceased by his brothers Pete and James Arnold.
He is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Margaret M. 'Peggy' (Woehlcke) Arnold; a son, Christopher (and Jennifer) Arnold, of Montverde, Fla; twin daughters - Sheryl (and Joe) Castellano, of Miami Lakes, Fla. and Sandra (and John) Murray, of Naples, Fla.; six grandchildren- David, Mehgen, James, Zacharey, Matthew, and Zander; and his sister, Marie Pash, of Easton, Pa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday (December 1st) at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Cape May. There will be a viewing Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Church.
