Mrs. Daisy Davies, 48, 615 Sherman avenue, died at 10.25 pm yesterday at her home. She had been in poor health 10 years and seriously ill a year.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Raleigh J. Harris funeral home here. The Rev. A. Brabson Morrow, of the Presbyterian church, will officiate.
Burial will lie at Pontiac South Side cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. tomorrow.
Mrs. Davies was born Feb. 14, 1902. at Xenia, Ill. She was a daughter of Wesley and Jane (Holliday) Brown.
When she was 19 she moved to East St. Louis Where she lived until she came to Pontiac 18 years ago.
She was married to Howard Davies April 5, 1935. at Odell.
She belonged to the Women of the Moose.
Mrs. Davies is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Juanita DeFrees, of Sherman, Tex., and a son, Howard Davies, of Green Bay, Wis.
She also leaves six sisters, Mrs. Perry Sanders, of Pontiac. Mrs. Lillie Morris, of Collinsville, Mrs. D. A. Morris, of O'Fallon, Mrs. Ed Nash, of Xenia, Mrs Mary Van Dyke, of Flora, and Mrs. William Akes, of Caseyville; and three brothers, Ted Brown, of Sterling, John Brown, of Johnsonville, and Dennie Brown, of Xenia.
She also leaves a grandson, Jimmie DeFrees, of Sherman, Tex.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two infant brothers.
