Charles Anthony Citrano

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Anthony Citrano, 89, were held at 1 p. m. Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with the Rev. Phillip Pazhayakan officiating and the Rev. Jeff Ramsey assisting. Burial followed at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sibley.

Mr. Citrano, a native of Colfax and a resident of Sibley, passed away Thursday, April 26 in Minden.

He helped begin the Sibley Lions Club and was active in the Sibley recreation program for the youth of the town in building the ball park. He also helped start the Sibley fire department in which he was a volunteer. He was the owner and operator of Ruby's Shopworth, which was named for his wife of 50 years.

Mr. Citrano was always very helpful to many people in the town. He loved children and was always there to help them in any way. He enjoyed his free time by fishing and was a wonderful cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Mae Citrano, on
Feb. 7.

He is survived by his sons, Johnny "Jackie" Lockhart and wife Cheryl of Slidell, Sammy J. Citrano and wife Evetta of Sibley, and Charles A. Citrano and wife Mary of Shreveport; daughters, Deborah Fuller and husband E.B. Jr. of Richmond, Va., Tina Citrano and Greg Lemons of Heflin, and Jeanette Leftwich and husband Dwayne of Anchorage, Alaska; and one sister, Frances Hutchins of Shreveport.

Pallbearers were Andy Fish, Benny Harris, Larry Merritt, Richard Davis, Keith Merritt and William Fish. Honorary pallbearers were LeRoy Patterson and Freddie Smart.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sibley Volunteer Fire Department, local Lions Club or the Shriner's
Children's Hospital.
