Emily Ola Wells was the daughter of Mose Wylie Wells, son of John Eli Wells and Barbara Katherine Dowdy, and Mary Mason, daughter of Isaac S. Mason and Emily Hopper. She had one sister, Ludie Wells born in 1888, and three brothers: Zack Wells, born in 1895, Robert Lee Wells, born in 1898, and Weaver Wells, born in 1905.
On February 1, 1920, Emily married Ernest W. (Pete) Walker. They had three children: John Mose Walker, born in 1921, Mary Florence Walker, born in 1922, and Dolly Evelyn Walker, born in 1925. They also lost a daughter at birth in 1934.
At the time of her death in 1975 Emily was 73 years old and had been a lifetime resident of the rural community around Ratcliff.
