Funeral Is Today For Mrs. Ames Who Died Tues.

The funeral for Mrs. Charles W. Ames will be held this afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Wesleyan Methodist church with a prayer service preceding at the Weston and Woodard funeral home. Rev. Bernard Draper, pastor, will officiate at the service. Bearers will be William Craig; Charles Haine, Roger LaRoe, George Salisbury, Harlow Chase and Albert Look. Internment will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Sandy Creek.

Mrs. Ina Chase Ames, 73, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 1959 in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where she had been a patient since Thursday. She had been ill for nearly seven weeks, and had been admitted to the hospital two weeks ago but was discharged and readmitted later

Born on October 20, 1889 at Malcomb, a daughter of the late Major and Laura Parker Chase, she spent her early girlhood in that vicinity and attended the local schools. More than 50 years ago she was married to Charles W. Ames in a ceremony performed at Braisee Corner by the Rev. Mr. Sigler, then pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist church of that village.

Following their marriage, they operated a farm for a time in the Braisee Corner area and later lived in North Syracuse where Mr. Ames was employed as a carpenter. They came to Sandy Creek many years ago, spending the greater part of their married life here. Mrs. Ames was a member of the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Methodist church

Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Douglas Ames of Buffalo and Donald Ames of Sandy Creek; two daughters, Mrs. Harrison (Laura) Porter of Lacona and Mrs. Conrad (Lila) Enekson of North Chili, nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harlon (Edna) Jenkins of Plattsburg, and Mrs. Ethel LaVeck of Sandy Creek
