Lavina Camp Evert, daughter of Benjamin Camp (1798-1870) and Magdalena Mary Hinkel (1801-1858).
Wife of David Benjamin Evert (1826-1893) who was a Blacksmith in Mt. Carmel most of his life. Mother to nine children:
1. Thomas (1848-1933) married Sybilla Kaseman.
2. Isabella (1849-1860).
3. Alonzo (1852-1925) married Susan Jane Germ.
4. Mary Elda (1854-1929) married 1st. to Lawrence Reed, 2nd to George F. Grebey.
5. Daniel (1857-1935) married first Caroline Klebenstein, second Flora D. Bressler.
6. Benjamin Alfred (1860-1934) married first Susan Jenkins, second Alice Morgan Haas.
7. Laura (1863- 1932) married 1st John Watkins, 2nd, William Rhorbach.
8. Cyrus Opus (1865-1905) married Laura Knittle.
9. Araminta Minnie Mae (1869-1947) married Daniel Webster Light.

Lavina nee' Camp Evert is often mistaken for Lavina Persing who married to David Camp, Lavina Camp Evert's brother. Dates of death have often been confused between the two, and even David Benjamin Evert has been attached to Lavina Persing Camp in the Bear Gap Cemetery in some burial books.
From the old obituary of David Benjamin Evert he was listed as being buried in the Oak Hill section of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, but no stone can be found.
Our subject "Lavina Camp Evert" did die in Numidia at her son, Cyrus O. Evert and Laura Knittle Evert's home in Numidia, Columbia Co. on Jan. 25, 1899. St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Numidia has her date of death entered in their burial records by pastor Frederick Weicksel. Lavina's stone is gone, but the foundation for the stone is still there. My thanks to Jerry Wanzie, caretaker for St. Paul's for confirming her burial plot.
