Daughter of Gilbert Kniffen and Emeline (Walker) Kniffen

"Worcester.---Helen Louise Brown died at her home in Herkimer Friday, February 22, following a long illness from heart trouble. The deceased was a daughter of Gilbert and Emeline Walker Kniffen, and was born at Middleburgh, Schoharie county, December 13, 1859. She was married at Hartwick in 1877, to Eugene Brown of Mt. Vision. Mrs. Brown was the oldest of a family of eight children and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Orra Copernoll of Utica, and three brothers, all residing at Worcester, Charles B. Kniffen, John A. Kniffen and Claude G. Kniffen. Other surviving relatives are three granddaughters, Mrs. Carl Chamberlain of Schenevus and the Misses Elmina and Maxene Judkins of Herkimer, and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was a former resident of Worcester and has many friends here who will regret to learn of her death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the home of her brother, John Kniffen, Rev. Arnold Natino, pastor of the Baptist church officiated.
