Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel with Mike Ecker officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Darlene was born Feb. 18, 1954, in Amarillo to Roy and Reba Matthews. As a child, she moved often and lived many places with her family ,but she lived most of her life in Amarillo. She married Ronnie Savage on Dec. 1, 1972, in Amarillo.
Darlene was a certified nursing assistant at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital for six years. She was a homemaker for many years. She loved being a wife, mom and
grandmother. She was known for her cooking, gardening,
quilting and canning. She loved raising her chickens and named each of them. She was loved by all of her neighbors for her wonderful Christmas candy. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorene; and an infant brother.
Survivors include her
husband, Ron of Amarillo; a daughter, Jammy Savage of Amarillo; a son, Ricky Savage and wife Vanessa of Amarillo; a sister, Janice Howard of Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Justin, Jordan and Ashton.
The family suggests
memorials be to Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106; or
