GEORGE HARRISON LANE of Maynardville, TN (Formerly of Powell, TN) born March 16th 1940 in Harriman, TN entered eternal rest Friday February 6th 2009 at Baptist West Hospital. He was of the Christian Faith. Survivors include loving and devoted wife Helen Ruth (Holt) Lane (married Oct 30, 1961). Sons Robert H. (wife JoAnn (Branam)) Lane and Leroy J.(wife Kathie M.(Jackson)) Lane. Daughters Sylvia J. Schlachter (husband Christopher P. Schlachter), Minnie V. Garza (husband Ricardo Garza Trevino), and Sandra M. Hembree (husband Michael W. Hembree). Grandchildren Thomas E.A., Christine L., Zebulon L., and Robert J. Schlachter. George M.M. and Richard J. Garza. Katlan R. and Nathanel J. Hembree. Angela G. Meadows. Robin L. (Branam) Sellers and Dakota D. Lane. Sister Imogene McLemore and brothers Carroll Lane and Ralph Lane. Preceded in death by father Robert Crede Lane and mother Rachel Virginia (Brooks) Lane. Also preceded in death by sisters; Addie Mullins, Bessie Worley, and Geneva Chapman and by brothers; Clifford Lane, and John Lloyd Lane. For years he was a member of Brickyard Road Baptist Church Powell, TN recently attending Twinville Missionary Baptist Church, Powell. Family and friends Saturday 6pm- 8pm at Ailor's Mortuary (865) 992-5555 in Maynardville, TN. Funeral service 2 pm Sunday at Ailor's Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Franklin Henegar officiating. Burial Service 11 am at Loyston Memorial Gardens Maynardville, TN. Former coworkers and friends at Oak Ridge TN installations include; J. R. Breeding and William Z. Hurst as well as a host of others. Late coworkers Bybee Harold, Dean Ramsey and Jack Jennings and others. Special mentor and friend the late E.L. Foust. Supportive neighbor in his battle against lung cancer Jesse Maples. Former Vice President and devoted member of Laborer's Local 818 with Gold Club Member recognition (50 years of service as of 2007). At times an avid fisherman and wrestling fan.
