The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Lackey was born October 27, 1932, in Stokes County to the late John Noel and Mary Blanche Litaker Lackey. He was a self-employed plumber and was previously employed with R.J. Reynolds and Burlington Industries. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Bobby was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Noel Gordon Lackey.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Virginia Steele Lackey, of the home; a daughter, Lisa Baker and husband, Jeff, of Pfafftown; a brother, Clyde Lackey and wife, Dorothy, of Lakewood, WA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Betty Steele, Royce Steele, and Roxie Steele; nieces, Leslie Whyte, Kim Lawson, Karinda Wilson, and Tonya Shelton; and a nephew, Don Steele.
