Joyce Adams Holder Small was the second child of A C and Ruby Madora Farrow Holder. Joyce graduated from Lovington High School and aquired her Bachelor's Degree from Eastern New Mexico University. While teaching third grade at White Sands Proving Ground she met and later married Marshall Dennis Small. She loved children and enjoyed teaching them as she was a patient, compassionate, and caring person. Playing piano brought her a great deal of satisfaction. The forested area above their home in the Sacramento Mountains near Alamogordo was one of her favorite places. She died from an aneurysm at the young age of twenty four.
