Allen Ray Stevens was born September 23, 1953 in Viborg, SD to parents Ernie and Delores (Maschino) Stevens.

He died suddenly on May 22, 2012 at his home near Centerville, SD at 58 years of age.

Allen attended school in Centerville. He married Carol Carlson on January 29, 1972. The couple have been lifelong residents of Centerville. Allen worked for Cenex, was a salesman for Mobility Implement and GTA Feeds, and for the last 30 years has been a self-employed trucker.

Allen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Scandia Lutheran Church. He enjoyed helping his brother on the farm, sprint car racing, and John Deere Tractors. He was an avid camper and loved being in the Black Hills. Allen liked to spend time with his family and deeply loved his children, grandchildren and his very spoiled beagle Katie.

He was preceded in death by his father Ernie, grandparents, Wilson and Helen Maschino and Bill and Nellie Stevens, and his brother-in-law Rich Menigoz.

He is survived by his wife Carol Stevens of Centerville; mother Delores Stevens, Centerville; son Jason (Andrea) Stevens of Centerville; two daughters, Angie Stevens (Jeff Read), Milroy, MN and Kristen (Greg) Birgen, Centerville; grandchildren, Stephanie, Megan, Kayla and Allen Jason (A.J.) Stevens and Landon and Emma Birgen; brother Doug (Jan) Stevens of Centerville; two sisters, Sherrie Menigoz and Kristie (Scott) Pingrey all of Centerville; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Scandia Lutheran Church, Centerville, with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery, rural Centerville. Visitation will be Friday from 5PM to 7PM at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville.
