Isabelle was the daughter of Frank and Fannie (Smith) Eischen and was born June 12, 1921 near Sewell, Iowa. She was a graduate of Lorimor High School and taught country school following her graduation. In May 1942 she married Charles Whitehead, and the couple farmed near Lorimor until retiring in Lorimor in 1984.

Isabelle was a member of First Baptist Church in Lorimor, where for many years she had been active in Womens Missionary Circle, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Adult Fellowship, Bible studies and many special events and celebrations.

Survivors include her husband Charles; their son Dennis Whitehead and wife Phyllis of Williamsburg, Iowa; two granddaughters, Kimberly Whitehead of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Nicole Gillette, her husband Jason and daughter Sarah Elizabeth of Brookfield, Wisconsin.

She was preceded her in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Kristen Michelle Whitehead; three brothers, two sisters.
