Mrs. Robert R. Williams, died at the family home in the town of Freedom, Wednesday evening, June 4th, after a brief illness of only a few hours. Her sudden passing away was a great shock to her family as well as to the community.
Annie E. Morgan was the daughter of John H. and Elizabeth Morgan. She was born in the town of Freedom, June 19, 1864. With the exception of four years her entire life was spent in the town of Freedom, near the place of her birth. She united with the church when about 19 years of age and remained steadfast in the faith until the end.
She was united in marriage to Robert R. Williams, Nov. 29th, 1887. To them were born four sons and a daughter. She is survived by her husband, her five children, and three grandchildren; also by four sisters and three brothers, and a large circle of more distant relatives.
The funeral was held at her late home, Sunday afternoon; the large number in attendance giving evidence of the high esteem in which she was held by a wide circle of relatives and friends. The service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. D.H. Conrad. At the request of the family, T.J. Dornan and Rev. Conrad sang three selections. The interment was made in the Freedom cemetery; her four sons tenderly bearing the remains to their last resting place.
Among those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Williams and daughter, Evelyn, of Chicago; Miss Clara Mae Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Leonard, and Malcom Clark of Buffalo; Wm. R. Williams, Rutland, Vt.; Mrs. Will Bookmiller and Lewis Peet, St. Catharines, Ont.
