The community was greatly shocked when the news was received that Harry Ferguson had been killed by the cars. He was breaking on a freight and while switching at Gainesville he fell from the top of a box car to the track. The remains were brought to the home of his parents on the night express, accompanied by his wife and her mother from Rochester and his father and brother.
He was a member of the Masons and Odd Fellows at Arcade.
Some two years ago he married Miss Mabel Petrie of Rochester who survives with a baby daughter. He is also survived by his parents, a sister and five brothers.
The funeral was held at the Bethel church Sunday and was very largely attended, extra chairs being used in the aisles and entry. There were large delegations from the Odd Fellows and Masonic lodges of Arcade of which he was a member and also from the employees of the B.R. & P.
The burial took place in the Freedom cemetery.
