Honorary Urn Bearers are his grandchildren: Shawn Crowser, Heather Young, Allison Crowser, Brandon Crowser, Andrew Crowser, John Fluke, Jourdan Fluke, JaMae Crowser, Taylor Crowser, and Sydney Crowser.

Alton Kaye Crowser was born April 14, 1927 in Erskine, MN to Robert and Carolyn (Chandler) Crowser. After graduating from Erskine High School in 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Base. He was transferred to San Diego for Medical Corpman training and went on to serve at the Florida Naval Station until the end of WWII.

After his service, Al enrolled in Concordia College, Moorhead, MN graduating in June, 1950. During that time he met the love of his life, Harriet Hanson, and they married in September, 1949. They remained married for 62 years until the time of his passing.

He began his business career working for Commercial Credit in Fargo, ND and was transferred to be Manager of the Bemidji Commercial Credit Office in September, 1950. He was later hired as the Executive Secretary of the Bemidji Chamber of Commerce where he worked until he was recruited and hired by Federated Mutual Insurance Company. He served as their Sales Representative for Northern Minnesota where he earned achievement awards as one of the company's top representatives including induction into the prestigious Leadership Council of the Federated Insurance Companies. Due to health issues, Al retired after twenty years with that company. He went on to work for ten years as Finance and Insurance Manager for Bob Lowth Ford in Bemidji, retiring in 1989.

During his lifetime of commitment to the greater Bemidji community, Al was a member of First Lutheran Church for 61 years and served as President of the Congregation in 1956. He was a member of the Benevolent Order of Elks where he served as District Deputy, was voted Elk of the Year, and served twice as exalted ruler. He was a member of the Ralph Gracie American Legion and a former member of the Bemidji Masonic Lodge. Al was a complete perfectionist which was duly noted in every garage he owned. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards with good friends and family and, when encouraged, he and Harriet were a great duo on the dance floor. Al never wanted to be the center of attention and would prefer to be fishing at Red Lake or Lake of the Woods with family and friends, something he truly cherished. He was an avid sports fan for both the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. Later in life he loved going for drives, especially to the North Shore, or just any new off-beat road he and Harriet could find.
