Bartender/artist. His Paintings are hung in several museums in the Ebensburg, PA area and in the Noon-Collins Inn, Ebensburg, PA.

MARK ADAMS DIES
AT CRESSON HOTEL

CRESSON, Jan. 13 – Mark C. Adams, aged 67, a widely known sign painter and highly esteemed citizen of this community, died at 9 o'clock Saturday night in the Anderson House, 629 Front street, where he had resided the past two years. A lifelong Cambrian, Mr. Adams was the last of eleven children of Matthew M. and Mary (Fels) Adams, at the Foot of Five plane, Cambria county, and was born on April 15, 1868. Five brothers and five sisters preceded him to the grave. His grandfather, the late Ignatius Adams, was one of the pioneer settlers in Cambria county.
Active in civic and community affairs, Mr. Adams held membership in numerous local fraternal organizations. He was affiliated with the St. Francis Xavier's Catholic church, past trustee of the Loyal Order of Moose, No. 188, and was an ardent sportsman and was affiliated with the various sportsmen's clubs in Cresson and Cambria county.
It was through the untiring efforts of Mr. Adams, that the Cresson Historical society was formed on Oct. 1, 1934. Mr. Adams was elected president for the fiscal year and last fall was elected for another term. At the organization session, Mr. Marks presented the society with the original rail and iron chains, wedges and keys of the old Portage railroad, which was in operation here a century ago.
Mr. Adams is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nora (Parrish) Adams, and two nieces, Mrs. Frank Casanave and Mrs. William Mandes of Philadelphia, together with numerous relatives in Altoona.
The body will lie in state in the Anderson House where at 7 o'clock this evening members of the Loyal Order of Moose, No. 188, will go in a body to pay their respects.
The funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock in St. Francis Xavier's Catholic church. Very Rev. John James Brady will sing the high mass of requiem.
Interment will be made in the family plot in St. Aloysius Catholic church cemetery at Summit.
