According to The History of DeKalb County, 1822 - 1900, by Vivian Price, Solomon Goodwin is the Son of Franklin Goodwin, Physician. He and his brother, Theophilus, moved from Virginia to South Carolina in 1795. He died in DeKalb, possibly a victim of Smallpox epidemic that devastated the Atlanta area that year.
Solomon married Elizabeth “Bessie” Saxton, who died in South Carolina. They had three sons and two daughters, all born in South Carolina.
