She was married to Francis F. "Fred" Stembaugh on November 25, 1948, in Pine Village, IN, and he survives. Mary was a purchasing account clerk at Purdue University from 1975 to 1995. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was a member of a Euchre Club and enjoyed her grandkids and family.
Surviving with her husband are their two sons, David M. Stembaugh, of Lafayette, and Scott A. Stembaugh (wife, Michelle), of Dayton; three brothers, Jim Byers (wife, Sandy), of Crawfordsville, Larry Byers, of Veedersburg, and Gary Byers (wife, Molly), of Crawfordsville; and two sisters, Nelda Hollingshead (husband, Jim) and Kay Simonton, both of Veedersburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Tamaren Poole, Jacob and Aerica Stembaugh, Casey Luehrs and Kameron Brown; two great grandchildren, Nathan and Angeleah Poole; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Emmalyn Poole; three sisters, JoAnne Jefferies, Betty Allen and Sharon Byers; and four brothers, William "Bill", Bradley "Bud", Clyde and Ted "Junior" Byers.
