JACOB T. BROWNING DIES THIS MORNING
Farmer of Near Macon Passes Away at Home Here
Jacob T. Browning, a farmer residing four miles east of Macon, passed away this morning at 7:30 a.m. He is survived by one son and one daughter, F. M. Browning of Macon and Mrs. J. C. Gadd of Moberly. His wife preceded him in death 22 years ago. He was 89 years, 8 months and 7 days old.
Mr. Browning was born in Bedford county, Pennsylvania where his life began on August 13, 1835. Mr. Browning remained on the Pennsylvania farm with his parents until 1873 when he came to Missouri and located in Macon county. Soon after his arrival in this country he bought 40 acres of land near Anabel on which he continuously made his home and as time passed and his ventures prospered he added to his domain until he owned more than 200 acres at his death.
In 1907 he retired from active pursuits and gave the farming interests over to the management of his son.
On January 16, 1855 he was united in marriage to Miss Jean A. Bennett of Budford County, Pennsylvania. She died on August 20, 1903. Seven children were born to this union, five have preceded their father in death.
Mr. Browning was a republican in politics and a member of the Grand Army of the Republic.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home by the Rev. Ralph Wyrick, pastor of the First M. E. Church. Interment will be made in Oakwood cemetery.

Jacob Thomas Browning was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania August 14 [sic], 1835 and died at his home in Macon County, Missouri, April 20, 1925, aged 89 years, 8 months and 10 days.
On January 15, 1855, he was united in marriage with Jane A. Bennett and oe this union seven children were born two of whom survive him Mrs. John C. Godd of Moberly and Emery M who lives east of Macon. The wife and mother died August 10. 1903
In young manhood. Mr. Browning united with the Methodist Episcopal church.
He was a veteran of the Civil war having been a member of the 14th Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was honorably discharged following injuries sustained in the Battle of Gettysburg.
In 1873, he moved with his family to Macon County and settled upon the farm which has been his home since that time.
Besides the children mentioned, he is survived by fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
