OBITUARY
Kingsport - Lori Jean Hoskins, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday (April 9, 2006). She was born and resided her whole life in Kingsport. She graduated magna cum laude from Hiwassee College and East Tennessee State University, and was a substitute school teacher in Sullivan County for many years.
She worked as a caregiver for Chip-Hale House for the past several years. She was an accomplished artist who loved to draw for children and was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served as the song leader.
She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest E. Hoskins.
Surviving are her mother, Jean Hoskins McMurray; three brothers, Barry Hoskins of Kingsport, Russ Hoskins and wife Stephanie Hoskins of Johnson City, Joe Hoskins and Carol Duncan, Kannapolis, N.C.; and three special nieces, Andrea, Holly and Samantha Hoskins
Friends may call at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, from 6-8 p.m. Thursday - April 13, 2006. Services were conducted at the Arcadia United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Friday - April 14, 2006 with Rev. Grover Starnes officiating and assisted by Rev. Jason McIntosh and Rev. Regina Shelton.
Burial will be at the Gunnings Cemetery following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arcadia United Methodist Church, c/o Dorothy Bentley, 593 Island Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37664.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
