Was a Soldier During the Civil War—Leaves Six Children.
John R. Perry, 69 years old, died at his home near Piper, Kansas, yesterday.
Mr. Perry was a native of Platt County, Missouri, but has resided in Kansas since 1870. His wife died in 1898 and since that time he has been living with his daughter.
Besides his daughter, Mr. Perry is survived by six children, W. B. [Winfield Benton Perry] , E. R. [Edward Rosencrans Perry], J. W. [John William Perry], E. C. [Ephriam Custer Perry], and J. G. [James Grant] Perry and Mrs. Fannie Ferguson. He was a soldier during the civil war in company , 51st Mo Vol. Infantry, serving until the close of the war. He was highly respected by all who knew him.
The burial will be in Bethel cemetery tomorrow.
