Services were Nov. 1 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints, with internment at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Phillips was born in Sherman, Texas, on July 26, 1928. He was a 20-year veteran and past chief of the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife Erma Stacy; mother Leona Phillips Johnson of Arizona; sons Randy of Aurora, Bill of Hugo and Jerald of Virginia; daughters Sherri Whitcomb of Peyton and Teresa Gulbrandson of Virginia; 20 grandchildren.
