Services for Mr. Andrew F. Stamper, 82, of Columbia were held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, 1992 at Riser and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia with Rev. Stuart Bedillion officiating. Burial was in Cross Roads Cemetery west of Grayson under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home Inc. in Columbia.
Mrs. Stamper died Wednesday, March 25, at Columbia Heights Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Mr. Stamper was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Columbia and a retired mechanic with Gartman Motor Company with 33 years service.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lena Watson Stamper of Columbia; son, Freeman Stamper of San Francisco, California; son and daughter-in-law, Leeman and Barbara Stamper of Columbia; daughter and son-in-law, Merlene and Huey Garcin of Shreveport; grandchildren, Michael Stamper, Tommy and Denise Garcin, Linda and Kevin Bartlett; brothers, Amos Stamper of Sarepta and J. V. Stamper of Shreveport; sisters, Odessa May Alger of Columbia, Frances McClary of Sarepta, Annie Walters of West Monroe, Marry Lee Smith of Longview, Texas, and Onnie Mae Glascock of Denham Springs; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Glenn Meredith, Billy Wallace, Melvin Duckett, Max Shores, Charles Thompson and Jackie Barrett.
Honorary pallbearers were Lamar Simmons, Arvel Harris, V. H. Osteen, Homer Meredith and Ezra Russell.
