Lavon B. Thornberry, age 93, of Asbury, Mo. passed away at her home on May 18, 2012, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Lavon was born May 20, 1918 at Waco, Mo. to George and Florence Rolleg.

She married John Thornberry on September 21, 1935. He preceded her in death, along with two children, Bobby and Linda, and a granddaughter.

Her survivors include four daughters Evelyn Hasenplaugh, Webb City, LaWanda Coppenbarger and husband, Howard Sidenstricker of Afton, Ok., Sue Dunn and husband Ronn of Asbury, Karan Sanders of Asbury and 3 sons, Gary Thornberry and wife, Mary of Bartlesville, Ok., George Thornberry of Asbury, and Kevin Thornberry and wife, Kim of Baxter Springs, Ks., along with 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Carl Junction Cemetery with Rev. Jarel Burnside officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home of Webb City, Mo.
