F. Cecelia "Cece" Wise
Wenatchee, WA
F. Cecelia "Cece" Wise, 104, of Wenatchee, WA, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, with her daughter by her bedside. Cece was born on April 15, 1907, to Eddie and Maude (Carpenter) Lawson at Belton, TX. Her early education was in Texas, before moving to Kansas, where she was a beautician. She married Martin Wise on March 2, 1935, in Kansas. They resided in several states and the country of Bolivia due to Martin's profession as a cereal chemist. They retired to Wenatchee in 1972. No matter where they lived, Cece had a beautiful flower garden and was most generous in sharing beautiful bouquets of flowers with others. When not tending her garden, you could find her at the sewing machine, turning out
one-of-a-kind outfits and formals for herself and her daughter - she was certainly a seamstress "extraordinary". Since moving to Wenatchee 40 years ago, she was active in the First United Methodist Church, Wenatchee Valley Grange, Eastern Star, 49er's Square Dance Group and was a life member of the Wenatchee Valley Senior Activity Center.
Cece is survived by her daughter, Kay Schumacher of Wenatchee; grandsons, Kevin and Greg (Joanne); granddaughter, Cheryl; and great-grandchildren, Juliet, Elliot, Simon, CJ and Michael. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother; three sisters; son-in-law; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Many thanks go to the caring staff at Colonial Vista Assisted Living, especially Pam, Fern, Bev, Cori, Ginger and Gail. You made her days and nights brighter.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Memorials may be made, in Cece's name, to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are assisted by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
