Beverly Ping Morrison

March 17, 1923 ~ March 20, 2012

Beverly Ping Morrison was born March 17, 1923, in Willowbrook (Los Angeles area), CA. Beverly grew up in the Wenatchee, WA area, especially in Rock Island for much of that time and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1940. In early childhood, Beverly discovered her artistic abilities and by the time she graduated high school, she was off to study art at The Art Center School in Los Angeles. She was an accomplished portrait artist in oils, pastels, charcoal and watercolors. She married Carl A. Morrison on February 7, 1944, and he shipped out to Europe. They were married for 67 years, when Carl passed away April 9, 2011. The couple moved to Ephrata, WA in 1945, upon Carl's discharge from the service. Beverly loved music and she managed the record shop in Ping Electric when Rock and Roll was just beginning. It was an enjoyable time for her. She and Carl operated Sun Lakes Park Resort with the Carl Carlson's from 1959 to 1965. They then moved to Hawaii for a time, where Beverly studied art with well-known masters. She worked in real estate in Honolulu. After returning to the mainland, she pursued a real estate career in the Burien area for many years, until retiring in Palm Desert, CA.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Lovin and son-in-law, Bill Lovin; a son, Rod Morrison; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a son, Jan Kendall; and grandson, Rodney Morrison.

An informal Memorial Service will be held at Nicoles Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome. Interment will be at the Ephrata Cemetery.
