Iris Vivian Lewis, age 85, of Marshall Creek died Sunday morning, July 3, 2011 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.

Mrs. Lewis was born on February 5, 1926 in Marshall to Iru Don and Berniece Mildred (Waltz) Lake. She was a life long resident of this area and was a graduate of Marshall High School, class of 1944. Following her graduation from high school, she started her employment with the Eaton Corporation. Iris retired as the Employee Relations Manager at Eaton Proving Grounds.

On June 29, 1967, she married Robert Dean Lewis in Marshall at the home of a dear friend, Armond Dunn. The couple had just celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Hospitality City Chapter, National Secretaries Association and was the first recipient of their Secretary of the Year award. She enjoyed bowling and golfing and had participated in several leagues in the Marshall area. Iris had also been a member of the Marshall Women of the Moose.

Iris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and granddaughter. Iris and Bob enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin, Iowa and throughout Michigan to visit the many casinos. For several years, Iris had been a member of the Rudy Vogelreuter's Dance Band, providing her vocal talents.
