Donald Stark, 26, of 622 Fourth avenue SE, was killed at 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he walked into the side of a car driven by F.B. Clayton, 604 Fifth street NW, at the intersection of Twelfth avenue and Seventh street SE. Clayton was driving east on Twelfth avenue at a speed of about twenty miles an hour, he told police.
Stark was taken to a local hospital by J.L. Koutnik, 1503 Seventh avenue SE who was driving behind Clayton. Stark was dead when he reached the hospital. Coroner B. L. Knight investigated and reported that Stark's neck had been broken, Causing his death.

Funeral Services for Donald Stark, who was accidentally killed on his twenty-seventh birthday Sunday at 12:30 a.m. will be held in the Beatty chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. James T. Stewart will officiate and burial will be in the Campbell cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Born April 5, 1909, at Bertram, he had lived in Cedar Rapids for eleven years and was employed as a driver for the Yellow Cab company. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stark, 622 Fourth avenue SE and a sister, Mrs. Donald Scovill of Marshalltown. He was a member of the Homesteader lodge
