Son of John Magee, Jr. and Bethany (Bethana) Cordelia Scott. Grandson of John Magee, Sr. and Sarah Ann Moore; Nehemiah Scott and Elizabeth Atkinson. His father, both of his grandfathers and a great grandfather were revolutionary patriots. Married unknown wife about 1806/7, who was born about 1788, in South Carolina, and died about 1837, in Mississippi. (There is some question as to his first wife's name. DAR records do not list a name for her, just a birth date and place of 1788, Chesterfield County, South Carolina and died Pike County, Mississippi about 1837, married about 1807. One source gives the name of Mary Ann Luter. I believe this to be his grandson's wife.) Married Mary Terrell March 8, 1838, Marion County, Mississippi. Parents unknown. Married Jane Warren, December 3, 1839, born September 14, 1786, in Georgia, died June 21, 1859, Sandy Hook, Marion County, Mississippi. Daughter of John Warren and Elizabeth Rebecca Perkins. He was a Baptist minister.
