Gregory Wayne Jacobs, 53 of Port Arthur, TX passed away on May 14, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Houston, Texas. Gregory, born March 16, 1959 in Port Arthur, TX was a 1978 graduate of Lincoln High School. He attended a 2 year machinist course at Lamar University. Gregory, ranked E7, was a 15 year veteran of the United States Army and was a trucker.
Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Folton Jacobs, Sr.
He leaves to mourn his mother, Catherine Banks of Port Arthur, TX; one daughter, Asteria Hackworth (Tony) of Edwards AFB, California; 2 brothers Folton Jacobs (Faye) of Manteca, CA and Pastor Audwin Jacobs (Ann) of Port Arthur, TX; one grandson; mother of his child, Carla; very special uncle and aunt, Robert & Josephine Robinson of Port Arthur, TX and Alice Robinson of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Paradise Baptist Church with a viewing from 12 noon until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
