Betty Jean Beene, 87, of Del Rio and formerly of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at her home in Del Rio. She was born December 8, 1924 in Roby, TX to Houston Harry & Marjorie Louise (Godard) Hughs. She was a retired school teacher for the Ector County School District. She is a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Wayland William Beene.
She is survived by her sons, Sam Beene of Del Rio, Gary Beene of Corpus Christi, John Beene & wife Dianne of Odessa; her daughter, Kim Swann & husband Terry of Odessa; (10) grandchildren, & (12) great-grandchildren.
Family and Friends gathered from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 17, at 2501 Palo Verde in Odessa. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Don Allen officiating.
She lives with Jesus.
