ROBERT TROUP, BY WENDELL EDWARD TRIPP, JR (1973) ARNO PRESS: P.285: "he developed ports at the mouth of the Genesee and on Sodus Bay. At the former he laid out the village of Charlotte -- named by his daughters Charlotte and Louisa in honor of the younger daughter"
"he encouraged the development of Lumisville, Troupville (Sodus Point), Wolcott, and Pulteneyvelle."
--both of these are near Monroe, New York to the west of Rochester--
P.302-- in 1815, Charlotte married James L. Brinckerhoff, son of the wealthy Abraham Brinckerhoff of New York City. He and Charlotte enjoyed material comforts, if his domestic receipts are an accurate indication, but he failed in business and in the 1820's was employed by the Pulteney agency as Troup's New York secretary.Charlotte Brinckerhoff; Wife of the late James L, and daughter of the late Colonel Robert Troup,
died July 18 1872 in Manhattan (NYC) at the corner of 5th Ae and 26th St from heat exhaustion and old age, at the age of 82 years
