Frances M. Corkill, 87, of Elyria, passed away January 31, 2012, in her home. She was born November 4, 1924 in Dover Center (now Westlake). She moved to Elyria in 1927, and was a 1942 graduate of Elyria High School.

She worked as a bookkeeper most of her career, and was employed by Ernst and Young in Cleveland for 14 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Elyria since 1942, where she had taught Sunday school, sang in the chancel choir, and played in the original bell choir. She enjoyed playing tennis and had been active with the Elyria Y.W.C.A., American Theater Chorus, Playmakers, Rainbow Girls and the Grand Cross of Color.

Frances is survived by nieces, Barbara J. Limbert of Uniontown, and Ruth E. Young of Mentor; grand nephews, Brian (Autumn) Limbert, and Michael (Wendy) Limbert; grand niece, Sarah Young; great-grand nephews, Andrew and Colyn Limbert; and great-grand niece, Kaylee Limbert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin T. and Nada A. (nee Beedle) Corkill; and sisters, Beth Maier and Betty Young.

A memorial service will be Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 1:30 P.M., in Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave. Elyria. Reverend Christina Kukuk will officiate. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
