William Bryan Thurman
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. today at Sheldon-Booth Funeral Home Chapel, Rich Hill, for William Bryan Thurman, Rich Hill, who died Saturday, April 26, 1997. Bro. Tom Farrington conducted the serevice. Carla Armentrout, and Bro. Farrington, soloist, provided the music. Pallbearers were Randy Thurman, David Brockman, Ed Nichols, Richard Brockman, Leo Nichols and Cyrus Nichols. Interment was in Green Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Thurman was born April 16, 1909, at Cedar Creek. At one time, he was employed by a logging company at Sprague River, Oregon, and in 1949, he and his wife, Betha, moved eight miles northwest of Rich Hill where he had purchased a farm. He also did farming, worked on the railroad and did construction before retiring. In 1974 he and his wife bought a home in Rich Hill and he spent many years doing lawn service.
The Thurmans would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on May 5.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Thurman, of the home; eight children, Glen Thurman, Roswell, N.M., Irene Klein, Santa Maria, Calif., Dale Thurman, Grafton, W. Va., Bill Thurman, Napoleon, A.J. Thurman, Dallas, Ga., Nadine Wing, Hume, and Ken Thurman, Rich Hill; 17 grandchildren' 20 great-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
